On November 2, 2008, thirteen families reached out and came together to share their common heritage, culture, and interests. The initial goal was to form a "samahan" or fellowship among the dedicated pioneers. However, the belief that all "kababayans" or countrymen, in the area needed a group where they could come together and find camaraderie was indeed, very powerful.

This belief was validated, and as a result, the formal organization, The Irvine Filipino American Community, (TIFAC) was born. Today TIFAC has a diverse membership of more than 60 families from different regions, native and foreign born, various age groups, and many religious groups. Membership is open to all individuals and families who would like to share or participate in this "samahan."
